Where’s The Love For Mew…?

From Zerochan

On October 21, 2011, Yamaha released one of the first software for VOCALOID3. Her name is Mew, and she looks very different than previous Vocaloid. Unlike the usual bright, flashy manga character, she is portrayed in a monochromatic, almost realistic style. Her voice is mature and deep, not high and cutesy.

So Yamaha decides to introduce the highly anticipated VOCALOID3 software with both her  and SeeU, (Who was discussed in SeeU: Fresh or Flop?) released the same day. Now, SeeU is, undeniably, much more popular than Mew. Her song “I=Fantasy”, has many more views on Youtube than Mew’s “Line” There is much more fan art on SeeU as well, whereas it is difficult to find Mew artwork, at least as far as I’ve searched.

I’m just wondering, why is Mew getting the short end of the stick? I really like Mew! Her box art is gorgeous, her voice is nice and mature, which is reminiscent of Luka.

I mean, I realize this post isn’t going anywhere, but I’m just wondering why she doesn’t get any attention. I like SeeU, but I also like Mew. I will admit that I=Fantasy defiantly held my attention much longer than Line. I’ve noticed that Mew’s voicebank seems quite hard to manipulate, I’m just waiting for more Mew songs and artwork to come out!

I would love to hear your thoughts on Mew as well, or maybe just VOCALOID3 in general! Please leave a comment in response!
