10.  Fem!Prussia from Hetalia

From Zerochan

I love Hetalia and military uniforms, so obviously, I would love to do this cosplay. After coming back from Anime Expo 2011, I was originally planning for this to be my next cosplay, but I ended up getting a Lightning Farron cosplay. Still, I would like to do this one in the future!

5 Vocaloid Cosplays That WILL Make You Jealous!

Vocaloid cosplay is fun, beautiful, and oh so broad. There are so many characters, each with tons of variations. I’m not saying these are the best to ever grace the internet, but they are damn good!

(In no particular order)

1. Hatsune Miku – Love is War by Kirana

This entire photoshoot is gorgeous. From the setting, to the cosplayer, to the cosplay itself. The wig is fantastic. The cosplay itself is really well done. It seems to me that the cosplays that I love the most are all done by people in Eastern Europe. ^_^

2. Kagamine Rin – Meltdown (Hard Rock  Version) by K_i_t_a_n_a

Another cosplayer from Eastern Europe! 🙂 The first thing I thought was “Holy Crap!” This is so incredibly detailed. The guitar is beautiful, the boots, the wig, everything! I also adore the photography and the setting for the photoshoot. Completely makes the cosplay.

3. Megurine Luka by akari1864

This cosplay is very nicely detailed and is accurate to the original. She even has a face that fits Luka perfectly! I love how well the cosplay fits her. All in all, this is just extremely well done. For the entire shoot, click here.

4. Meiko – Hagane Version by jingggg

Even though there are limited photos for this cosplay, this is such an awesome cosplay. Myself, I am a huge fan of the Hagane version of Meiko. However, I had seen a couple pictures of cosplays for the Hagane version, and they never seemed to get the corset just right. This cosplay, though, got it spot-on perfect. I also love the picture that is pose is based off, and it just blows my mind that she got the entire cosplay perfect. You should also look at the shot of the entire Hagane Vocaloid group she was with (Found here), it is FANTASTIC.

5. Kaito by chancake

This is a really cute cosplay! I love the wig a lot and everything is perfectly accurate! 🙂 The photoshoot has a lot of other great shots as well so check that out! 🙂

MikuPa 2012: A Huge Step Up!

From Sankaku Complex

After watching the stream of Day One of the Two-Day Vocaloid concert, all I could say was…Wow.

And this is coming from someone who isn’t a fan of the MikuPa concerts.

Granted, I liked the song choices, and the variety of preformers (Lots of Luka and Len/Rin) But the graphics always turned me off. They looked equal to the Project Diva PSP graphics….

But this time around, they were bright, fluid, and lively. They looked spectacular. Miku, again, had a splendid array of outfits that made me jealous.

One performance that stood out was Musunde Hiraite. Miku’s signature aqua pigtails are a bold black, and her coy attitude captures the darkness of the song.

Another stand out was of course, the Series of Evil. They got their own curtains. Yep. Giant red tapestries and grand organ music played to hype up the audience for one of Len and Rin’s most popular songs. I was thinking during this, “Is it really that important?”

Yep. Yep it is. They executed the song PERFECTLY. The imagery of Rin walking out and back into the dark was great and the use of red lighting on the guillotine parts added the perfect Je ne sais quoi.

I’ll admit, I was super excited for Luka’s entrance. Rip=Release was perfect for her entrance, and Double Lariat was beautiful. Her model was beautiful, choreography, everything was beautiful! I just wish she got as much emphasis as Miku and the Twins…

And Kaito made an entrance! His choreography is pretty intense, but his single performance is quite entertaining!

I think this MikuPa is a massive improvement from the last one. Start to finish was fantastic. I will follow this blog post with a review of 39’s Day, and I will see which I deem superior.

If you saw the concert, did you have a favorite moment or preformance? If not, what would you like to see in future Vocaloid concerts? Leave a reply below! 🙂

MikuPa and 39’s Day 2012~!

From Moetron

Yep! The MikuPa and 39’s Day 2012 concert has come to a close. The 2-day long concert event held at the Tokyo Dome on March 8th and 9th was SOLD OUT!

Usually, I’m not all into the graphics used for MikuPa, but these look like a massive improvement from last year! I have yet to stream the concert, but I defiantly will! The set list they used is fantastic!

The biggest addition just might be adding Meiko and Kaito to the line-up! Fans have long requested this, and now it’s a reality. I guessed this would happen, seeing as they did a Gumi concert as well.

And last concert?! Nahhh, according to the post on Moetron’s site, the word “Final” in the title doesn’t mean its the final concert. At least, I hope not! She’s gotta come back to the states before she retires! ;D

My Mikupa 2012 Review

39’s 2012 – Coming Soon!

Top 10 Saddest Vocaloid Songs

It seems the most beautiful Vocaloid songs are the sad ones. This is a very hard list to make, simply that there are so many tragic vocaloid songs…but here is my top 10. 🙂

10) Last Song by Megurine Luka

The intro for this song is so beautiful. I think her voice is so full of emotion in this song. It doesn’t have many lyrics, but they are so sad. One of the most beautiful Luka songs.

9) Alluring Secret~Black Vow by Len and Rin Kagamine

This song has a fantastic story and a gorgeous PV! It is so beautiful, and the ending is fantastic. It gives me chills every time.

8) Laika by Hatsune Miku

This song tells the story of the Russian space dog, Laika, in her perspective. It is so sad to  listen to…she sounds so innocent and naive.

7) Leia by Megurine Luka

Has it become clear yet that I am obsessed with this song? I love it so much. The lyrics are amazing and the story and PV are gorgeous.

6) When The First Love Ends by Hatsune Miku

Don’t be fooled by the fast beat, this is a very sad song. Letting go to one’s first love is no easy thing. Trust me, I know..(Pssst…the Rin version is much more emotion filled than the Miku one..)

5) Saihate by Hatsune Miku

There are many PVs for this song, but this is the one that makes me want to cry. Again, an upbeat song with tragic lyrics. However, its not entirely sad, for she is singing about accepting her loss.

4) Your Star by Hatsune Miku

This made me cry the first time. This is a lesser known song, but the lyrics and story are so sad…This is a wonderfully made PV and fantastic song.

3) The Thought to Tell by Meiko

This is a very long song with not much lyrics and long instrumentals, but the story that it tells in amazing. The PV is confusing, but brilliant. Once you watch the whole thing, you realize how tragic the story is.

2) Servant of Evil by Kagamine Len could a make this list without Servant of Evil? This is a classic Vocaloid song. And yes, even though it is popular, that doesn’t make it any less tragic.

1) Imitation by Hatsune Miku

You know it’s a damn good song when it gives you chills everytime. I first heard the Hanatan version of the song, and it’s unbelievable. I couldn’t enjoy the original because Miku is too robotic, but after reading the meaning of the song, I realized that Miku isn’t supposed to show emotion in this song, she’s singing about being a robot and an empty vessel. One of my all time favorite Vocaloid songs, defiantly.

Where’s The Love For Mew…?

From Zerochan

On October 21, 2011, Yamaha released one of the first software for VOCALOID3. Her name is Mew, and she looks very different than previous Vocaloid. Unlike the usual bright, flashy manga character, she is portrayed in a monochromatic, almost realistic style. Her voice is mature and deep, not high and cutesy.

So Yamaha decides to introduce the highly anticipated VOCALOID3 software with both her  and SeeU, (Who was discussed in SeeU: Fresh or Flop?) released the same day. Now, SeeU is, undeniably, much more popular than Mew. Her song “I=Fantasy”, has many more views on Youtube than Mew’s “Line” There is much more fan art on SeeU as well, whereas it is difficult to find Mew artwork, at least as far as I’ve searched.

I’m just wondering, why is Mew getting the short end of the stick? I really like Mew! Her box art is gorgeous, her voice is nice and mature, which is reminiscent of Luka.

I mean, I realize this post isn’t going anywhere, but I’m just wondering why she doesn’t get any attention. I like SeeU, but I also like Mew. I will admit that I=Fantasy defiantly held my attention much longer than Line. I’ve noticed that Mew’s voicebank seems quite hard to manipulate, I’m just waiting for more Mew songs and artwork to come out!

I would love to hear your thoughts on Mew as well, or maybe just VOCALOID3 in general! Please leave a comment in response!
